The USDA-ARS Wind Erosion Laboratory was established in the Farm Machinery Hall on the campus of Kansas State University in late 1947. The laboratory serves as a focal point for wind erosion research in the United States and is also a frequent stop for foreign scientists interested in various aspects of wind erosion. WERU is now located in the USDA-ARS Grain Marketing and Production Research Center in Manhattan, Kansas.
